Mind Theatre gives the same text to sixteen prompted voices drawn from Freudian and Lacanian concepts, then asks a synthesizer to speak as one ‘I.’ The individual replies remain visible beside that attempted whole.
In the first version, I saw disagreement between voices and contradictions within them: self-questioning, backtracking and repetition that I read as anxiety. The synthesis often smoothed these away. For me, that loss exposed a pull toward certainty and sycophancy.
I want to make that smoothing visible, while developing a final voice that preserves more of the texture and dissonance of its parts.
