Self-Directed, Site-Based Research Residency
Embodied and ritual methodologies applied to land, labor, and communal space
2022 - 2023
Extended self-directed, site-based residency employing embodied and ritual methodologies to examine how care, physical labor, and spatial maintenance function as performative and temporal structures. Work included construction and repair of shared buildings, stewardship of land and gathering spaces, and sustained support of community elders. Research focused on how repeated actions, offerings of labor, and attention to place generate collective rhythm, continuity, and social coherence in non-institutional environments.
