Net works
Thom Tano videos, image works and Wetware presentations
Videos, images and browser works that alter files, faces, found media and the boundaries of the body.
Itme. Scans of my head become a short animation and objects within the virtual gallery. Intel RealSense, Cinema4D and WebVR.
This collection brings together the Thom Tano videos and image works with later presentations in Wetware Gallery. Procedures move between the screen and the body: editing video files as text, performing emotions through icons, scanning my head, sewing clothes shut, and combining the images and sounds that circulate online.
Find and Replace appears in two forms: the original 2011 file-editing experiment and its later WebVR presentation. The recordings preserve their different encounters.

Documentation
The Thom Tano recordings were posted in 2011–2012. The later body of work was developed in 2014–2016; its surviving recordings identify the WebVR presentations as 2016 and were uploaded in January 2017. These recordings document earlier works, rather than the current Wetware rebuild.

Find and Replace. Video files are treated as text, with selected characters programmatically removed.
Youth. Animation and original audio presented together in a virtual gallery. After Effects, Ableton, Cinema4D and WebVR.
Perfect. Manual and scripted transformations of plastic-surgery reference images. Photoshop and WebVR.
A Summation of Things I've Found, Done, or Seen on The Internet Over the Course of Fall 2011. A video collection of material found, made or encountered online during fall 2011.
CHROMA ME OUT. An experiment in automatic removal in Photo Booth.
Emote. A performance of emotions through icons. Shown in Body of Work, curated by Daniel Everett, at Gallery 303 in 2012.
Find and Replace — original video experiment. Video files edited in Apple TextEdit by replacing symbols with zeroes. Originals precede altered versions played at double speed; the altered sound follows from the file edits.
Billboard Top 10 — October 3rd 2011. The ten songs and their music videos combined into one audiovisual composite.
brainded.. A short video described in its original post as a post-exam unwind.
Closed. A recorded performance of sewing shut the openings in frequently worn clothes. The original account connects the act to shedding the present and moving toward the future.
