Thom Tano
Performance persona · Net art · Nightlife
A performance persona I developed for queer expression through styling, speech, DJing and releasing work.

the canonical Thom Tano photo
I developed Thom Tano as a performance persona, creating room for queer expression in a restrictive environment. Through styling, speech, DJing and releasing work under the name, I explored how identity shapes belonging, privacy and recognition in nightlife. The persona changed over time, and I eventually retired it.
